The office interior was established to create a dynamic and collaborative work environment. The growing number of Google staff in London was supported. As with many other Google offices worldwide, there was a strong local theme. A theme of London-Brighton was chosen. It resulted many iconic elements of both were incorporated into the modern interior. For example, meeting rooms were brightly colored timber beach huts and giant colorful dice offered individual video conference booths, original dodgem cars and traditional red telephone booths. Open plan workstations for all staff were blended with a few offices, meeting rooms and open break out seating areas and support spaces for printing and IT technical support. The Google interior consisted of a fully fitted out gym/shower facility, massage and spa treatment centre, and an Asian Fusion/Sushi restaurant that was free for all staff.

According to Ken Giannini, Interior Design Director of Scott Brownrigg, Google was one of the most desirable places to work in the UK. The staff enjoyed every minute of this exciting project. All the Google staff had the innovation, brilliant ideas and they liked to be challenged. Google was a serious business and demands efficiency, value and solutions that supported their business practices. This project included a fun working environment, which united lots of practical solutions.

According to Joe Borrett, Head of Real Estate and Construction for Google, the office was designed and delivered in a very fast timescale (4 months). It was a great attempt.
According to Jane Preston, UK Facilities Manager at Google, the first impressions by visitors and staff was very positive. The project suited well with our real estate and HR strategy and supported the growth plans. The work environment became as a major recruitment factor to compete for the best talent and this new office.

Designed with a Brighton beach theme, the interior design was putted with dodgem cars used as work spaces, red telephone booths, beach huts and giant dice. Wallpaper in the meeting rooms and video conference booths was drawn with seaside imagery. The space also consisted of a gym, spa centre and restaurant offering free meals for the 300 strong staff.
