The clients needed a house design, where the building was fine as long as the client’s life.
The client needed the contemporary house with a view of the magnificent sea in the east where the sun rises. This was the land, where was chosen to live out his final years. The portion of the sea involved the peninsula that appeared on both sides of the site. A four-meter wide gravel and dirt road went through in front of the site. On the other side of the road was a park-golf course where several elderly neighbors enjoy their leisure time. There was seashore behind the breakwater wall. The ebb and flow of the tide turned with the seasons and the time, but the distance from the site to the waves was generally reached about 150 meters. The height of the floor was reached nearly 8.6 meters from the horizon. It was preferred as the perfect height to view the waves from a sitting position. The coastline where the site was located was outside the scope of this round map. This round map involved the area of the activity in Japan. This project was taken to a beach beyond sublime Suzuka mountain range, over past the ravines of the Ise Penninsula, and surpassed the boundaries of this circle! Early morning light flowed through polygonal windows. With the overlapping windows and accumulation of light and shadow, the entire building was clear to the morning.

Architects EASTERN design office created this house. It was located on the outskirts of Ise, Japan. It was built on a concrete block to afford views of the sea. The unique house became a concrete construction and sits 8.6 metres above sea level, looking east over a breakwater. A row of irregularly shaped windows punctuated the façade. It was positioned higher or lower in the wall depending on where the client intends to sit and stand. About the interior, there were wooden floors and ceilings. It was shared by a V-shaped partition. Slits that lined up with external windows punctuated the internal walls. Photographs were by Koichi Torimrua.
