Japanese studio Apollo Architects & Associates designed Japanese house in Japan. The Japanese house showed a white rendered volume sitting on top of a concrete base and no exterior windows. The Shift was the modern house had been built around a central courtyard where glazed walls provide views into all of the interior spaces on both floors. On the ground floor, on either side of the courtyard was provided the living room and kitchen. In the first floor, the three bedrooms was available, each with their own balcony and little garden. A yoga room, bathroom and workroom were also provided. All of those rooms had views of the internal courtyard.

The site in the outskirts of Tokyo was surrounded by lush green and a slow-paced environment. The minimalist house was destined by a family. A family consisted of the husband who managed an insurance company, the wife who worked as a patternmaker and their two children. It was planned as a SOHO, with a space for the yoga classes run by the wife added to the house.

The exterior was distinguished a wooden volume, which covered with a luminescent wall. On top of a base made of exposed concrete engrained with the texture of Japanese cedar. With a hollow center, the house was easy walk around. It allowed for the presence of family members to be felt from anywhere. Sustaining the equilibrium of the architecture, the symbolic tree in the courtyard was played the important role. The living room and dining kitchen oriented each other across the courtyard. The courtyard from the entrance positioned across a sculptural staircase. The staircase symbolized in its presence and gave expansiveness. On the first floor, there was the multi-purpose room. It was provided for yoga classes and for other activities. The small gardens provided light and openings for bedrooms. Incorporating an open-air garden within it, the Japanese house

fully enjoyed the Japanese four seasons. The contrast between the external and the internal would support to keep a fresh mind in everyday life.
